Mac’s are usually elegant in their execution, but one of the features lacking is a complete uninstall. On the surface, the removal of software would appear to be simple. According to Apple, you simply locate the apple in Finder’s Application folder and drag it to the Trash Icon. Or if you have a touch screen, you can delete it in Launchpad through the “touch and jiggle method.” See Apple instructions: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202235#:~:text=Press%20and%20hold%20the%20Option,are%20required%20by%20your%20Mac. (Then be sure to empty the Trash; its not gone till you do!)
Sometimes un0installing an application is more complicated. These programs create files in multiple locations. Moving the program into trash can leave behind orphan files that take up space. Some are hidden; deleting the wrong file can be a problem.
In Windows, there is the Programs Setting that let’s you manage the installed applications. And when you uninstall, the application removes all files and configuration associated with that software.
However, not to despair. There are a number of great programs that will uninstall software completely. Here is an article reviewing some of the most popular: https://wethegeek.com/5-best-uninstaller-apps-for-mac/ My favorite is Advanced Uninstall Manager if you want something easy and inexpensive. You can get it in the App Store for $5! Then just open it, and instead of dragging your app to Trash, just drag it into the app window, and you are done. The application and the app cache files are removed.

The uninstall managers will typically assist with other functions, and so for the money are a good value and help you keep your Mac well maintained and uncluttered. Check them out.
